In the 2025 federal election, Gen Z and Millennial voters outnumbered older generations. Yet only 0.7% of elected members in this federal parliament are under 30.

In late 2025, Run For It will establish a national, online, non-partisan campaigns fellowship program for young organisers, activists and advocates. This program will teach a diverse range of skills necessary for community based change maker to start contesting elections.

What do we do?

We support young people who are leaders in their communities to run strategic and strong campaigns to get elected to local councils across Australia.

We recognise that the right to vote and stand for election has been denied to First Nations people. At Run For It, we work in solidarity with First Nations people in all of our campaigning and support First Nations justice with every opportunity. We acknowledge that wherever we are in Australia, we are on stolen land. Australia was invaded and sovereignty was never ceded. We pay our respects to elders past and present.
