Our Team

We are a diverse team of committed young people, spread across the nation, all working together to create a better kind of politics. Here is a little bit about just a few of us!

  • Ed Krutsch

    Ed (He/Him) cut his teeth in campaigning with the School Strikes 4 Climate rallies in 2018. Since then he has led a number of grassroots election campaigns and worked for state and federal MP’s. He is passionate about changing the way democracy looks in Australia and raising the voices of young Australians in politics. He is currently the national director at Run For It and based on Wurundjeri country in Naarm/Melbourne.

  • Carina Mammone

    Carina (They/Them) enjoys working alongside other young people to achieve big picture change. Carina has a Bachelor of Public Health and Economics and has worked for both state government and NFPs in social policy focusing on promoting equity among disadvantaged communities. They are a general manager of operations at Run For It. Originally from Mildura, they are now based in Naarm/Melbourne.

  • April Tucker

    April (She/Her) is a passionate and active organiser leading the workshops team in Queensland. April hopes that through her work at Run For It, politics will be less confusing and inaccessible to young and diverse Australians. Outside of kicking butt with Run For It, April enjoys musical theatre and is always primed to recommend to you the latest media she's consuming.

  • Sarah Rosenberg

    Sarah (She/Her) lives on Gadigal land in Sydney and coordinates policy and research work at Run For It. Sarah has conducted research for Run For It on a range of topics from Lowering the voting age to the impact of political donations on young voters. Sarah has worked for a range of Not For Profit organisations and enjoys swimming in her spare time.

  • Zodie Bolic

    Zodie (she/her) is passionate about civic engagement, arts access and education equity. Zodie is committed to empowering diverse groups of young people, having worked with multiple governments, peak bodies, NFPs, and community groups to deliver outcomes for Australian young people. Zodie is currently a member of the Y Victoria's Youth Affairs Board Sub-committee, a Wattle Fellow at the University of Melbourne and was the previous Co-Chair of the Victorian Government's Youth Congress within the Office for Youth.

  • Billy Lister

    Billy (He/him) is a passionate young activist, campaigning for the voices of students and young people in victoria. With a wealth of volunteer experience under his belt, Billy is an ideas man who’s not afraid to roll up his sleeves and make positive change happen. At Run for it, Billy is focusing his energy on Communications and workshops! Outside Run for it, Billy is a Student, podcast lover and Volunteer! Billy is based on Dja Dja Wurrung Country in regional Victoria.

Our board is made up of an experienced group of young organisers, campaigners, policy-makers and elected representatives.

  • Isabella Morrand

    Isabella has a background as an organiser, campaigner, and activist educator in Australia's climate movement and broader social justice spaces. She currently works on campaigns for a fairer democracy, and strongly believes in the power of young people to realise a better kind of politics. She's dedicated to developing leadership in others and supporting movements to make our communities stronger, hold decision makers accountable, and protect our beautiful planet.

  • Cr Angelica Panopoulos

    Angelica Panopoulos was elected to Merri-Bek City Council in 2020 at age 21 and represents the North-West ward. She is passionate about her local community and believes that all levels of politics need to reflect the diversity, experiences and aspirations of the community. Her introduction to politics was through the refugee rights movement as a teenager, where she saw the major two parties committed to harming refugees and people seeking asylum.

  • David Mejia-Canales

    David is a human rights lawyer focusing on defending the rights of refugees and people seeking asylum and on protecting democratic freedoms. Prior to this David was a policy adviser in the Commonwealth Parliament working on legal system reform and on justice issues impacting First Nations people, including, ending deaths in custody, raising the age of criminal responsibility, protecting Country and Country defenders, and the implementation of the Optional Protocol on the Convention Against Torture. In addition to his experience with legal policy and law reform, David has worked in community development and health promotion, including HIV prevention and sexual and reproductive health rights with LGBTIQ+ and First Nations communities.

  • Carla Mazzoni

    Carla is a social justice practitioner with experience in campaign strategy, policy advocacy, legislative research, and youth diplomacy. As an advocate for youth engagement in civic and global affairs, Carla has lead a number of non-profit initiatives across Australia, the United States, China, Nepal and West Africa. As a grassroots organiser, Carla has lead electoral and issue-based campaigns at the local, state and federal level. In previous roles she has lobbied parliamentary representatives, negotiated enterprise bargaining agreements, coached first-time political candidates and trained rank and file union members to run for elected office.

  • Kurt Cheng

    Kurt is a policy advisor at the NSW Government focusing on digital government and youth justice policy. Kurt is currently completing his Honours Thesis in Law as part of his Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Communication (Social and Political Sciences) at the University of Technology Sydney. Since being elected as the kindergarten lunch monitor, Kurt has been a strong advocate for equity and inclusion in Australian higher education. Kurt brings expertise in political campaigning and strategy through his involvement in local, state and federal elections focusing on culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

  • Melanie Arnost

    Melanie currently works as adviser to former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd. She's a mum of two girls, a family safety advocate and president of Labor's Theodore branch on the northern Gold Coast, the lands of the Yugambeh people. She has more than a decade of media experience as a journalist and supervising producer for ABC News. She has also been a producer and Chief of Staff at Nine News, and a corporate affairs specialist for two years during the $200 billion Sunsuper/QSuper merger into Australian Retirement Trust. Mel holds a Bachelor of Journalism and a Master of Business Business Administration.

  • Cr Hadi Saab

    Hadi is a dynamic leader and advocate for diversity, inclusion, and community empowerment. He was elected to Kingston City Council in 2020 at the age of 26, first serving as Deputy Mayor then Mayor in 2023. Driven by his passion for inclusion and multiculturalism in Australia, work supporting multicultural groups for over a decade and more recently advocating for the rights of refugees and asylum seekers Hadi was inducted into the Victorian Multicultural Honour Roll in 2023. Hadi has extensive experience working in the Audit and Risk space and over a decade of experience in various paid and voluntary roles in governance work.
