Quinney Brownfield
Frankston Council's Pines Ward
Quinney Brownfield
I'm Quinney Brownfield, a candidate for Frankston Council's Pines Ward in the upcoming Local Government elections.
As an 18 year old who's served on various committees and boards, volunteered for years in community organisations and made a true difference on those around me, I have a unique perspective on how improvements can be made. 22.5% of residents in Frankston are aged between 0-17, but nobody's here to represent them in council. If elected, I'll be the youngest person ever elected to any council in Victoria's history.
I come from a low-income family under a single mother with 7 siblings, where we've lived in Government housing for as long as I can remember - now I'm doing what I can to represent the people I resonate with and make a true impact on my community; to help those I align with.
Earlier this year, I was a finalist for Frankston City's Young Citizen of the Year award. Now I serve on the Board of Directors for Peninsula Rotaract, Frankston headspace's Youth Advisory Committee, mentor Frankston High School Interact students and volunteer with various organisations across Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula, and have worked extremely closely with Rotary Clubs including Frankston North Rotary. I've also been nominated for Victoria's 2025 Young Volunteer of the Year Award.
With a young, achieved and passionate person like me in council, I can assure you that I will fight for the money, infrastructure and investments our ward requires. I will work hard to represent the interests of our community, and I will make sure the residents, businesses and organisations of Frankston North, Seaford and Belvedere have their needs met. I've never let anyone down in any project I've worked on before, and I don't plan on letting our community down in council either.
