Amara Khan

Greens candidate - South Ward - Liverpool city council

Amara Khan (she/her) is currently working as the Campaigns and Community Organiser for Senator Mehreen Faruqi where she brings her passion for grassroots advocacy and social justice to the parliamentary sphere. Amara is vocal about a range of issues stemming from her disillusionment with the current system rooted in colonisation. A child of immigrant parents, Amara is passionate about working closely with people from her community to advocate for the necessity of diversity in politics. Amara is running for the Liverpool Council South Ward to contribute to this goal in her LGA. She aims to inspire other young people (especially people who come from culturally or linguistically diverse backgrounds) to become more actively involved in the decision making process at all levels.
