Takesa Frank

Greens candidate - Ward 3 - Shoalhaven City Council

I am a proud young Indigenous woman from a close-knit family of six, with a love of the Shoalhaven.
I’m the youngest candidate for the Greens Shoalhaven, but what I might lack in years, I promise to make up with passion, commitment and enthusiasm.
I graduated from Ulladulla High School in 2019 and am currently studying a Bachelor of Geography at the University of Wollongong. My focus is physical geography – I’m hoping to learn how the environment interacts with flora and fauna to better understand how to protect our natural world for generations to come.
During my school years, I started exploring my passion for supporting and raising awareness about issues of importance – from climate change, through to issues affecting the youth of the Shoalhaven, as well as Aboriginal people who are often misrepresented or pushed to the side.
The climate change conversation is so important in our community. I believe it needs to be addressed if we are to develop and support a positive future for the Shoalhaven.
I’m passionate about helping to build a better Shoalhaven for all. It’s vitally important youth are represented in decision-making in our community. I’m running as a Candidate to give young people in our community a voice.
