ENGAGE

Our engage workshops focus on ways in which students can understand and engage in political systems, through individual actions, organising, voting and running in elections.

The workshops are ideal for high school students in years 10-12, particularly those studying politics and wanting to learn more about how they can actually get involved. They involve interactive components such as drafting an email to an MP, engaging in conversation about politics and participating in a mock election.

Aim : These workshops will aim to increase political literacy of students and give them the tools and the confidence to engage in electoral politics as a young adult.

Educational outcomes :

  • Provides students an understanding of how elections work, through busting myths and using real-world examples.

  • Prepares students to make an informed vote and engage in elections if they aren’t quite 18.

Finer Details : 50 minutes run time. Requires a classroom space with a projector, works best with group of 10-30 students and workshops can be run back to by by our presenters. All presenters will have a valid working with childrens check and will be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
